Silver Queen
one silver queen
at our river side
where the horizon danced once
fell twice
all it took, to see your face again
this time broken
upon the sediment
one silver queen
was all it took
one silver queen
and your eye fluttered
with your look away
I grew so old
and I lost
and you lurched
every time I stumbled
in her path
I am sorry
silver queen
I do not belong here
I do, I do
I did
he shuddered, I held him
so close
yet somewhere between our gaze
I fell
and you replaced me
beautiful, bold, bereft
I am a beast at your feet
with your lusterless lure
in every note, you rose, he fell
and his shining feat
stalked the shadows
around me
and from me, you two measured
tinges of dusk
from me, a still night stretched out
perennial
time too, has lost count
under a desiccating greenwood tree
you will stand,
one by one, make the line
one, two, three, four
and measure
the crystal-truths
he once pelted at me
scampering Grace
I would throttle your crown
on your dear, dear majesty
had I not loved him
in just that moment
when I had lost him

hera, this is somehow very different from your other poems. it has taken me a few readings to begin to understand it; and the more i read it, the more it dawns on me, this still quite uncertain understanding; which all the more makes me shudder. beautiful!
I mirror Jawad’s gradual understanding, but I would also take this opportunity to say that the imagery was astounding.
i will never know whether its a good thing to confuse the readers haha, but thank you for the boost guys
