Last Night…

29. May, 2007

Last night

You came in my dream again.

With your broken voice

And your dying breath.

You woke me up to a night

That swallowed me whole

Like the snake

That swallowed my hen’s eggs.

You lost your way, you lost me too.

I looked for you in every ally

Every face, every voice,

Every stop, every start.

And then I looked for you inside my heart.

I found you there

Blind and scared

Whispering, whimpering

You tore me apart.

I took you from there

And threw you

Out in the cold

To suffer

In the long night

That wailed, outside my dream.

Now I feel the poison

You spread inside me

Slowly turning my blood black

Drop by drop.

I sit here thinking

It will happen

Tomorrow night

You’ll come in my dream again.

Wow. This is very unlike your usual style. It is quite dark…honestly something I can see myself writing. : ) The images are very strong: hen’s eggs, snake, poison, black blood. All of this is truly very fascinating.

Thankyou Noor =) I agree, this is very unlike my style but I guess I read too much of your work =P thus the centre align, short sentences style. You’re inspiring.

It’s simply beautiful. For a change you’ve written a simple poem, the way I like. :P It’s very different from your usual style. Some great images in here, very vivid.

    Lovely, good job!
