What you say about the second chapter is true – I can no longer read through it myself.

Partly it’s because I’ve edited it a thousand times (turns out I didn’t know the rules for ” & .), but also because it is very long.

It’s very long because I had a hard time bringing down the excerpts to this level. I was trying to bring forth not just the injustice and the terror of the Palestinians’ situation, but also their breadth of their response – not merely restricted to the suicide bombing that catches the news.

In that sense, I’m not sure how to classify this piece: fiction, activism/propaganda, teleological fiction?

Is it even fair to “use” the Palestinian situation in this way, I wonder?

I must say you're a brilliant writer. I throughly enjoyed chapter 'I', your descriptions of the ants and the bathroom floor. The humour added an extra kick to it. The transition from chapter I to II, the change of tone, totally took me by surprise. The contrast adds alot to the piece, however the second chapter was too overbearingly powerful, I couldn't read till the end.
